Syllabus :-

General Intelligence:

  • It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. The test will include questions on analogies and differences, space visualization, problem solving analysis , judgement, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship, concepts, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series etc.
English Language:

  • Candidates understanding of the English Language and its correct usage, vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage etc. Her/his writing ability will also tested.
Numerical Aptitude :

  • The paper will include questions on problems relating to Number systems, Computation whole numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion , Averages, Interest, profit and Loss, Discount, use of Tables and Graphs, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work etc.
General Awareness:

  • Questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its applications to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected out of educated personnel.
  • The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic, Scene, General polity including Indian Constitution and Scientific Research etc.

General English:

General Awareness:

  • India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Polity, Economy, General Policy and Scientific Research.
  • Current Affairs, Books and Authors, Sports, Important Schemes, Important Days, People in News, current events of national importance, awareness towards General Science, Environment applicable in day to day life and awareness of knowledge of social importance.
  • Bihar especially pertaining to its History, Culture, Geography, Economy Polity and general awareness.

Descriptive Test:

  • The descriptive test will target to test candidates’ translation skills and their ability to write as well as comprehend the two languages (English and Hindi) correctly, precisely and effectively.
  • The level of the paper will be consistent with the educational qualification prescribed i.e. graduation level.
  • Translation (English to Hindi): This section will include two passages for translation carrying 30 marks each.
  • Translation (Hindi to English): This section will also include two passages for translation carrying 30 marks each.

Computer Proficiency Test:

  • Word processing Test on MS Word (10 marks): This test will target to test the basic typing skill of the candidates as well as their basic knowledge of MS Word.
  • Test in Spread Sheets on MS Excel (10 marks): This test will target to check the basic understanding of MS Excel.
  • Internet Proficiency (05 marks): This test will target to test the basic understanding of internet usage.

PET / PST Skill Test :-

PET for Tradesman Mate:

  • Male Candidates: 1.5 Km run in 6 mins and Carrying a weight 50 Kg to a distance of 200 Mtr in 100 sec.
  • Female Candidates: 1.5 Km run in 8 Min 26 Sec and Carrying a weight 50 Kg to a distance of 200 Mtr in 3 min 45 Sec (130 Sec
Junior Office Assistant (JOA) :

  • English Typing @35 w.p.m. on computer OR Hindi typing @30 w.p.m. on computer (35 words or 30 words per minute corresponding to 10500 / 9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions for each word).
Stenographer :

  • Dictation: 10 minutes @80 wpm
  • Transcription: 50 minutes (Eng). 65 minutes (Hindi) (On computer).
Physical Measurements for Fireman :

  • Height without shoes – 165 Cm. (A concession of 2.5 cms for ST Caste)
  • Chest : 81.5 cms to 86 cms
  • Weight : 50 Kg Minimum
PET for Fireman:

  • 1.6 Km Running for Male : 6 Min and for Female : 08 Min 26 Sec
  • Carrying a person of 63.5 Kgs to a distance of 183 Meters within 95 Seconds.
  • Clearing 2.7 Meters wide ditch landing on both feet (long jump).
  • Climbing 3 Meters vertical rope using hands and feet.
